I feel as though I should just name this post: "what Emily's having for breakfast". This is another in a small series of non-recipe recipes that I'd like to offer up - it's simple, healthy, tangy, refreshing, and (obviously) savory. And, it's breakfast.
I think we're all familiar with that sweet, delicious taste of fruit on the bottom yogurt cups or drizzling honey and granola on top of our greek yogurt. I will personally never turn down a vanilla yogurt studded with fresh blueberries.
I had kind of an overwhelming, sugary weekend though and I wanted to spend this week moving away from starting my day with sugar heavy cereals and yogurt. When I start the day with something sweet (it does not help that there is a pie shop literally in my apartment building!), I keep wanting the same flavors throughout the day. I'm not cutting out sugar, because I do believe in a life of balance (and because there's a New York cheesecake in the fridge for later), and because I like trying new things - here's my simple take on a savory yogurt recipe.
