A Healthy Freakshake

I'm BAAAAAACK! I took, what seemed like an interminable, two week break to move continents. I'm mostly settled in now and enjoying Evanston, IL. I've been soaking in the summer days and lakefront parks, but I've also carried way too money boxes and unpacked far too many suitcases. I swear each day brings a new strained muscle.

And, I've got a delicious treat for you -- a HEALTHY freakshake. Freakshakes are seriously intense milkshakes that often pile layers of desserts on top of a milkshake. I'm switching it up and bringing you a creamy smoothie and loads of fruit.

Meanwhile, I've also been marveling at the USA women's gymnastics team. I'm terrified watching them - I'm like no, oh, BE CAREFUL, what is she doing now, that vault DOES NOT look safe, how can they possibly do that with their bodies?!! It's a rollercoaster of emotions that brings out a serious amount of patriotism. (note: I'm trying to watch it on the nationalism though - it's so easy to be like WE ARE BETTER THAN EVERYONE ELSE, as opposed to, I'm so pleased our team has won and I'm proud of my country). Especially in the insanity of this election season, I think it's important to focus on what unites us, as opposed to what divides us.

So, back to this healthy freakshake - it's easy peasey to make and very delicious. I hope you enjoy it and get creative with the toppings.

*I used frozen blueberries

**Definitely use frozen cherries, so you don't have to pit them!
